Philosophy of Education

Ethos Academy is first and foremost a ministry and a resource to the homeschool community. We provide an opportunity for teachers to partner with parents. Ethos Academy seeks to equip, challenge, and inspire our students to love learning, think critically, and to apply their knowledge and wisdom to affect their world for Christ. The educational process at our ministry is based upon the belief that the Triune God is the Creator of all that exists and is the Author of all Truth. God chose to reveal Himself and His truth through the Word of God and His creations. We aim at partnering parents with educators in helping students to confidently grow in their studies, striving to develop community and world leaders that will stand for biblical standards in a fallen world (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 119:99, Proverbs 1:7a, Proverbs 2, Matthew 6:33, Philippians 2:1-16, and Colossians 1:15-17).

Through ministry at Ethos Academy, education is designed to help students and families first come to a personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. Secondly, we want students to develop academically through challenging and enriching classes with biblical worldview content that will equip them to live a life of service for God. Students will be prepared to understand from God’s perspective how to relate, serve, work, and evaluate the world in which they live. 

Ethos Academy’s ministry desires to come alongside parents to help raise their students in a manner that honors and glorifies the Lord. We strive to encourage an environment that is rooted in respect, faith, and biblical standards. We know the world is putting many challenges in the path of our students and families. Our ministry desires to stand with parents to support them and their students, standing in faith together as a community.  We expect active parental involvement in our program (Deuteronomy 6:5-9 and Psalm 127:3).

Ephesians tells us that God has a plan for everyone’s life. Each person is uniquely created by God and is specifically designed to accomplish His plan. Recognizing that each child is unique and gifted differently, Ethos Academy desires to provide a loving atmosphere, allowing each student to develop their gifts and talents. Every individual has worth to God; therefore, we should demonstrate His love by providing an atmosphere of love, respect and acceptance to every student (Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, and Ephesians 2:10).
